Minerai Serif
The Minerai typeface is rooted in the practice of Thomas Fleury-Araujo, a French-Portuguese graphic designer and typographer. Born from an intimate connection to material and territory, Minerai finds its origin in the town of Monção, in northern Portugal, the typographer's childhood home, shaped by granite, ramparts, and light.
By observing these mineral structures, both solid and porous, the designer began his typographic exploration. With Minerai Serif, he seeks to convey the density and strength of stone: a writing form built from matter itself, where each shape seems carved from granite.
Minerai Sans, its refined counterpart, extends this exploration by revealing another facet of the same landscape — the voids between the stones, the light that filters through, the breath that unfolds.
Together, the two typefaces form a complementary whole, a dialogue between grounding and openness, structure and lightness.
